Jonathan Anderson’s Dior: A Whole Book Makeover

With Nina Christen whois about to rewrite Dior’s footwear Legacy! #IYKYK

A Creative Takeover 72 Years in the Making

Jonathan Anderson’s appointment marks a seismic moment at Dior: the first time since Christian Dior himself that a single designer will helm women’s, men’s, haute couture and accessories (YES shoes!) across the board. His debut menswear show drops June 27! confirmed; his women’s ready-to-wear lands in October (start allocating your disposable income differently now!) Shoe obsessives, this is your moment.

Why I’m Totally Here for It (Especially the Shoes)

Let’s cut to the chase: Dior hasn’t had a shoe moment since Circa 2017! You know the one: those J’Adior slingbacks with the saucy cursive strap that I honestly still wear. (mainly because they’re the only navy ones in that height, which reminds me to keep an eye out for a substitute)

NINA CHRISTIAN (our secret footwear goddess) heading shoe design?! The revolution is literally at our feet. Genius! Her track record is pure fantasy:

Let’s pour one out for Phoebe Philo’s Celine era because NINA (who designed there) is the quiet genius behind every It shoe you’ve craved

Saint Laurent: Those Chelsea boots that defined Slimane’s grunge-redux, NINA!

Bottega Veneta’s intrecciato sandals: in my parakeet-green pair, worn to the bone. LOVE! And puddle boots! NINA!

Loewe’s iconic balloon and “squished balloon” shoes! The exact ones Carrie Bradshaw rocks in And Just Like That. COVET! Yup NINA!

She’s a narrative maker, wearable art with playfulness and comfort. Finally, Dior’s shoes will reflect someone’s personality. Nina Christian! That first chapter’s about to drop. Expect cult classics with comfort, her own label, is Swiss-engineered for all-day wear.

The

Book Tote

Reimagined

Anderson’s Instagram teasers gave us a cheeky first look: Dior’s beloved Book Tote, reissued June 27, with full on book covers “Dracula,” “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” and more.

Dior’s classic was already a visual manifesto. Now? It’s literal literature: clever, tongue-in-cheek. If you thought book-themed clutches were niche, Anderson’s making them mainstream couture. Think Patricia Field bringing back the magazine clutch vibes but smarter.

Dior’s Soft Relaunch + Strategic Vision

Anderson’s “soft launch” drip-feeding capsule elements like the Book Tote and shoe teasers, plays perfectly into this narrative heavy, Instagram celebrity premier strategy.

It’s a savvy move: whisper before the full roar of runway season. Expect theatricality, iconography (maybe Basquiat references? Check early teasers) and unmistakable Anderson charm .

Dior’s new chapter doesn’t just reboot the Book Tote: it reclaims narrative, humor and (blissfully) makes shoes worth shouting about. With Anderson & Christian at the helm, the pages of luxury are finally turning, good luck choosing which one to read first.

This is Jasmine Karimi - Lover of bold soles (and even bolder stories) walking the walk in shoes that say “I came to play…and slay.”

This is LOOK BOOK LIVING - where every heel hits the page.

I ramble when I’m excited . . .
